Show Attendance Helps PSC Gain Additional Product Safety Expertise

The team at Product Safety Consulting Inc. (PSC) will be on hand at the International Home + Housewares Show’s (IHS) Wired & Well Expo, March 18 through 21 at McCormick Place in Chicago to take in all the innovation in housewares and connected home conveniences. Sponsored by the International Housewares Association (IHA) this is the place where the latest engineering endeavors meet new products and services. For PSC, the goal in attending is to expand our knowledge of nascent industry trends, become better educated and further leverage our expertise and best practices in this growing field of consumer products.

IHS is a massive gathering, featuring more than 2,200 exhibitors from six continents bringing together more than 62,000 attendees from over 125 countries. The show’s theme is “It’s Smart” and that means connected. Our fine focus will be on the Wired & Well Expo, where we will get in-depth information and meet one-on-one with as many as possible of the 300 some exhibitors! Products featured in the Wired & Well Expo include energy conservation products; floor and carpet care; home healthcare; household electrics; kitchen electrics; major appliances; personal care;  and home environment.

Consumer Product Safety Testing

Of course, product safety, consumer product safety testing and a wide range of certification services is our core competency and the newest connected products and developments require proper compliance and testing. As these and other consumer devices continue to move to more sophisticated technologies we always strive to have our pulse on overarching trends so we can continue to deliver the most up-to-date product safety consulting and compliance proficiencies to customers. If it’s new and coming to market, we want to help provide best practices and safety, quality and performance engineering testing and consulting to those companies supplying to the market.

Our goal is embodied in PSC’s Designing for Safety Approvals™ (DFSA) – a portfolio of services that builds solutions in products from the ground up and not as an afterthought or add-on. This process ensures quality production and manufacturing every step of the way.

Since there are more than 300 exhibitors, it’s sure to be a busy show as we walk the floor and talk to manufacturers who are on target to deliver new merchandise. Exhibitors are focusing on innovation, but we’re here to gain knowledge of the intricacies of their product development processes – and to see how we can assist. With so many standards, regulations and compliance mandates, it’s our duty and philosophy to stay ahead of the game, and tradeshow attendance is one way in which we continue to strengthen our value proposition.
