Preliminary Design Review
In the initial stages of product development, we evaluate drawings, schematics, and construction to ensure compliance with established standards. We work closely with you to identify the appropriate standards, provide component selection recommendations, and establish guidelines for meeting requirements. Our recommendations set you on the fastest and most cost-effective path to certification.
Construction Evaluation
If you have a prototype or a product that has not yet been evaluated to the required standard, we conduct a comprehensive examination. This involves a clause-by-clause assessment of the relevant standard(s) to identify non-compliances. We provide detailed solutions for each non-compliance and prepare your product for testing, ensuring the correct testing regime.
Testing Capabilities
PSC is fully equipped to perform a wide range of tests required for most US and European standards. If a specific test requires equipment we do not have on-site, we can arrange for its procurement through rental or lease. All testing is conducted using NIST-calibrated equipment and in controlled environments to ensure accurate results.
Certification Body Submittal Management
We offer complete project management for the submittal of your product to the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). We oversee the process from submittal to certification issuance and work to resolve any issues that may arise. In cases where your product fails a test, we document each non-compliance thoroughly, provide specific recommendations for compliance, and assist with re-submittal.
Field Evaluations
For products already installed in the field, we can evaluate and test them to provide certification for specific installations. This service covers compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. If your product(s) meet the necessary criteria, we will confirm this with the inspector and issue a report. Depending on the NRTL used for certification, we can even apply a certification label upon evaluation completion.
